What is Eye Strain?

Asthenopia means eye strain. It is a discomfort caused by intensive or prolonged use of the eye. Generally, it does not constitute a situation that will adversely affect health. But sometimes it can be a harbinger of serious health problems.

What Are the Symptoms of Eye Strain?

What are The Causes of Eye Strain?

What Can Be Done?

In order to relieve eye strain, you need to eliminate the factors that tire it. For example, it can reduce your daily 3-hour television viewing time to 2 hours. The brightness of the phone may decrease during use. Not reading books in dark places. You can take care to read your book with sunlight during the day.

Natural Treatment Methods for Eye Strain

  • Chamomile Tea

In a glass of water, put 2 bags of chamomile tea. Soak in hot water for an average of five minutes. Leave the chamomile tea bags until they are lukewarm. When it gets warm, put it on your eyes and let it sit for an average of 10 minutes. You will find that it greatly relieves your eyes fatigue.

  • Rose Water

Another herbal mixture that is effective for the eyes is rose water. Add ten drops of natural rose water to 2 clean cotton balls in total. Close your eyes, put these cotton balls in your eyes. Let your eyes rest for an average of 10 minutes.

  • Cold Water

Another miracle of nature is cold water therapy. Pour cold water on a small hand towel. Squeeze the water out of the towel well. Close your eyes and cover them with a cold towel over your eyes. Let your eyes cool for about five minutes. It will be effective in reducing your eye strain.

  • Eye Exercise

One of the main problems caused by eye strain is the inability to focus. There will be impaired concentration. Keep the pen you hold at arm’s length. Fix your eyes on the pencil. Move the pen back and forth left and right. Follow with your eyes. After 5-10 repetitions, your focusing problem will improve. You can repeat this every time you experience a lack of concentration.
